Shots and Silence

Just saw the video for Bobaflex’s cover of “The Sound of Silence.” I’m a little torn on what to think.

The tune, which I’ve heard many times and really dig, is just flat out awesome. But the video? I don’t know…

I’ve never been much of a lyrics guy, so I don’t know… perhaps there IS something in the lyrics that points towards this. I’ve read them, but I think I’m missing something.

What’s your take?

Oh… one nice thing about reading the lyrics? You get to find out that there’s nothing about a “naked dinosaur…”

I know this song well and have always liked it, even though Garfunkel seemed creepy to me when I was a kid. As for this video? I’m not much for videos. All about interpretation dude. It suits the times and the mentality of the current generation.

And … um… naked dinosaur? What the hell? I don’t really want to watch the thing again do I? The other thing I was looking at - Is that a dude or chick in really bad make-up on stage?

So… you don’t hear “And then the naked dinosaur…” when they sing “And in the naked light I saw…”? How can you NOT? :)

Oh… and that is a dude. They are all dudes, or reasonable facsimiles.

Good cover, lousy video. And screw you, dude. Frickin’ naked dinosaur, indeed. Now that’s caught in *my*haid, too…

The chick is hot, but some shit should just be left alone.
