RIP, Dio

Many, many memories of Dio’s music, both as vocalist for Rainbow and Sabbath, and as a solo artist. Ronnie James Dio passed away today.

Damn, that sucks. I have fond memories of Dio at my first concert during his initial solo tour. It was weird as well because he headlined and the opening acts were, I shit you not, John Waite and Humble Pie.

    That is freaking weird…

At least you got to see him. All of the shows I’ve been to, and I’d never seen Dio…

One of my first concerts in the mid-80’s, I believe it was the “Last in Line” tour.

The man was truly a master of lyrics that only make sense if you look at them one line at a time.

Which was about my attention span, cuz I was usually pretty wasted when I listened to him back then.

Liked him better with Sabbath. Some of that group’s best work, IMHO.
