‘Tis the beginning of the holiday season. Again, it doesn’t feel like it… it’s not cold, and nary a snowflake to be seen. I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to a holiday season without snow. First Florida, and now this…

In a little less than two weeks, I’m home for ten days. One of the mandatory stops (besides Who-ters? with Contagion) is Culvers, for a pumpkin malt. And then an egg nog malt. Oh, and we can’t forget Taco Johns and their Oles. And a Super Combo Burrito with extra Super Hot. Or two. Man… I’ll have to be rolled onto the plane coming home…

Last year, I couldn’t find an egg nog shake out here to save my soul. Mac’s doesn’t believe in egg nog shakes in the Central Valley. That’s blasphemy. I did finally find out that Jack in the Crack serves them, and, while they’re not as good as Culvers’ or Mac’s, they are pretty decent. I had heard that they started serving them, as well as pumpkin, already, so I made a stop in there. I went with the pumpkin.

Pumpkin shakes and malts may sound a bit nasty, but take it from me… they are gottdamned tasty. Um… for the most part. Jack’s version was okay. Not bad, not good. Those of us who were blessed with a Culvers know what a good pumpkin malt tastes like. Jack is definitely no Culvers, but it will suffice. It does help to make the transition into the holiday season.

Tomorrow, I see about the snow…

Snow. It is snowing in Wis. We get it maybe tomorrow. You can totally have it but as you are in a land sans holiday snow. I shall dub thee – “Winter Without Snow – but secretly No Alcohol Lager” *snicker*

    Or . . . “Pizza A-Go-Go – a Piece While You Wait ” I’m torn. 😉

Navy CPO is right! When you have to drive in killer fog then you’ll know it’s truly beginning to look a lot like Christmas (winter) in Fresno. Pumpkin shakes? Man, and people say Koreans eat wierd shit.

We’re getting some snow right now, no accumulation. BTW, you need to tell me what day you want to hit Hooters et al. Grau wants to hook up as well, and I need to give him enough of a heads up to get the time off.
